The school aspires to be a leading IB World School. Our first IB Diploma and Certificate Programmes will commence in September 2014.
The IB (International Baccalaureate) Diploma Programme involves the study of 6 subjects (3 at Higher level, 3 at Standard Level) – Literature, Language, Humanities, Sciences, Mathematics, Arts or Elective. This provides students with a broad curriculum, but allows individuals to select some subjects to study in depth. Students must also complete a Theory of knowledge course, complete a 2,000 word extended essay and at least 150 hours of creative study, sport, and community work.
This prestigious course is recognized by universities and high education institutions across the world and provides an excellent pre-university programme.
We recognize that for a small number of students the IB Diploma programme will be challenging. An alternative, IB Certificate programme will be available. Students will have a personalized curriculum, selecting subjects based on their strengths and completing some elements of the IB Diploma programme. Depending on the nature of their programme, it is still possible for students to access higher education courses although these are likely to be more career-related.
